Mustek Scan Express A3 1200 Pro USB Large Format Scanner Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)If you are looking for a scanner that can scan a full page of comic art in one pass then look no further. No more scanning in pieces and cutting and pasting pages together. The scan area has enough room for a full sized 11" x 17" comic page with room to spare. The extra software isn't great or bad, if you are already scanning into your chosen software you probably won't use it. Plus it's about the hardware and I am so glad I got this scanner, it has made scanning pages a lot easier.

Canon CanoScan N1240U Flatbed Scanner Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This wonderful piece of technology really makes life easier! You can install it on your PC in a couple of minutes simply by following the instructions. It comes with a photo-editing software that you can use without consulting a manual. The digital pictures are crisp and the colors are nothing but stunning. The software makes it easy to scan photos at a high resolution and save them as files with a lower resolution if you want to email them to friends and relatives, or upload them onto your webpage.
If you are an old-fashioned photographer who is not yet fully convinced of the quality of digital photos, but you nevertheless want to use the internet to send photos, this scanner is an excellent choice.

Offering rich 48-bit color and a full 8.5-by-11-inch scanning area, the CanoScan N1240U provides all sorts of creative possibilities for the home user or small office. Optical resolution is an impressive 1,200 x 2,400 dpi, which guarantees crisp detail and clear images. Plus, if your graphics needs require it, the N1240U can take your 1,200 x 2,400 dpi original and mathematically enhance it to 9,600 x 9,600 dpi.
Although the CanoScan stands just over 1 inch high, its unique Z-lid extends easily to make room for thicker originals such as books or magazines, while the single-cord USB connection (cable included) keeps desktops free from clutter. The USB connection also powers the scanner, so no bulky AC adapter is required.
Operation is a snap, thanks to dedicated one-touch buttons for scanning, copying, or e-mailing photos. The N1240U is compatible with both Macintosh and PC systems, and it comes with a one-year limited warranty and Canon's convenient Instant Exchange service.

(More customer reviews)i put "document" in quotes for this item, because i found it very odd that, upon complete set-up, there was no built-in feature on their software for OCR! we had an old scanner that had OCR built right into the main interface. this scanner, however, does not. it requires you to scan a tiff, then run it through the separate OCR software that comes with it. not a huge dealbreaker alone, but an additional step that costs time, especially when processing a mountain of documents. so, i'm not entirely sure why they market this scanner as a document scanner when really it's PDF-making machine.
this is our second 2020u, as the first one decided to stop working on day two. however, customer service was friendly, helpful, and fast. we got our replacement scanner, free of any charge, the next day. this one has been running fairly smoothly, however paper gets "jammed" constantly. i say "jammed" because it's not really stuck, it just seems like the scanner got tired of scanning halfway through the page and stops and claims there's a jam. i wouldn't point this out if it weren't happening every ten pages.
we haven't used business card scanning, fax or email functions with this one yet. but it is a slick little machine, and it handles PDF creation just fine!
