(More customer reviews)i put "document" in quotes for this item, because i found it very odd that, upon complete set-up, there was no built-in feature on their software for OCR! we had an old scanner that had OCR built right into the main interface. this scanner, however, does not. it requires you to scan a tiff, then run it through the separate OCR software that comes with it. not a huge dealbreaker alone, but an additional step that costs time, especially when processing a mountain of documents. so, i'm not entirely sure why they market this scanner as a document scanner when really it's PDF-making machine.
this is our second 2020u, as the first one decided to stop working on day two. however, customer service was friendly, helpful, and fast. we got our replacement scanner, free of any charge, the next day. this one has been running fairly smoothly, however paper gets "jammed" constantly. i say "jammed" because it's not really stuck, it just seems like the scanner got tired of scanning halfway through the page and stops and claims there's a jam. i wouldn't point this out if it weren't happening every ten pages.
we haven't used business card scanning, fax or email functions with this one yet. but it is a slick little machine, and it handles PDF creation just fine!
